I found what I believe to be a shrew, what do they eat?

While digging around our yard, I unearthed what looks to be a shrew. It's pretty little, possible a baby. It's got a long snout, a short tail, closed eyes, grey, and about an inch and a half long. It ran around in circles for a few minutes then stopped, sat there and just shook. I found an old hamster cage and have moved it in there. If he's a baby, what is the liklihood that he'll survive? What should I give to eat/drink? Thanks!
